PSH COVID’19 Protocol Measures

PSH Protocol:

  • All members entering the Prolific Sports House must wear a mask and follow AHS social distancing protocols. Failure to do so may result in loss of entrance privileges. Members must wear a mask while sitting in the facility. Members may take their mask off once they’re in their respective session, game, event, or program.

  • ALL MEMBERS MUST SCHEDULE THEIR TIME SLOTS OVER THE PHONE. Members are restricted to a 1-hour windows upon entrance into the facility.

  • A copy of Covid-19 Guidelines will be available at the gym - taped to wall

  • Upon entrance there will reminders for guest of temperature checks and a verbal AHS COVID-19 questionnaire

  • If there is a positive case of Covid-19 please contact us directly

  • Signage at entrance reminding persons not to enter if they are sick (even if symptoms resemble a mild cold - as per AHS standards)

  • PSH will have a daily log that records every member that enters the facility and stays for 15 minutes or longer (e.g. staff working each day, children, etc.). Records must be kept up-to-date and available to facilitate contact tracing in the event of an outbreak.

  • Provide alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol content will be placed in all entrances for use by staff, parents doing pick-ups/drop-offs and other essential visitors. 

  • The entry and exit protocol for Prolific Sports House is as follows: All members and guest must enter through the single doors marked with PSH sign, take their shoes off, and go through all the COVID 19’ Protocol Measures stated above. In case of a line up, there will be taped arrows, 2 metres apart, out front where members and guest can line up (wearing a mask) and wait patiently until you’ve enter the facility. PSH will try our best to keep the line moving as swift as possible. Members will exit through the door located in the Main Lounge Area (under the mezzanine on the first floor (arrows taped on the floor for guidance).

  • PSH will perform a deep clean every three hours throughout each day. Our staff will be wearing mask and will be walking around constantly to wipe down equipment, counters, handles, bathrooms, and more to ensure we’re keeping safety first!

  • PSH will provide clear guidance to all participating members, guest, players and coaches, including AHS protocols (posted throughout the facility).

  • The case of an injury to a player, the coaches have access to sterile gloves and a face mask to attend to the injured player.

Using the Water fountain is NOT permitted

Competition Leagues:

  • We’re following the “Mini League” model located in the AHS Covid-19 Protocols document (click here to read.)

  • All guest must sanitize their hands and players must sanitize their balls before going onto the court

  • All players must answer a series of COVID questions at the front desk prior to playing in their first game

  • No high fives or handshakes.

  • Game times will be scheduled to minimize players passing one another on their way in/out.

  • Players should not arrive more than 15 minutes before game time.

  • If your team wants to hang out in the lounge after the game, players will be limited to 30 minutes.

  • Competition Cohort will be a maximum of six teams. These teams must play within their cohort – they cannot play on different teams.

  • Divisions will be divided into two pools (Pool A and Pool B), in their designated Competition Cohort Group. Each Cohort group will have its own Playoff and Championship Finals.

  • Our overall cohort of competition cannot be over 50 total participants – that does not include coaches and officials.

  • Teams are able to have a manager, coach, and video person during game play. No other spectators are able to attend until further notice. Everyone must wear a mask. (Will review after 3 weeks)

  • Players must keep bags and other belongings with them at all times.

  • Teams must register before deadline. There will be no drop in or new teams allowed once the league has officially started

Booking/Event Protocol:

  • All members must immediately sanitize their hands upon entering the facility. All members must wear a mask into the facility as well.

  • Players and Coaches will be able to enter inside the facility 5 minutes before their scheduled time, only if a PSH staff member informs them their court or class is ready. If you arrive early, please wait inside your vehicle until it is time for your group to head inside. If the court is still occupied, teams must wait until the prior group has left and the court has been fully sanitized. 

  • Outdoor shoes are still required to be removed. Shoe storage is still available. Users are encouraged to put their outdoor shoes in their bags and bring them inside. Indoor shoes can be put on once on the court. 

  • Players or Coaches who are late to their session must contact their coach to let them know when they arrive. Their coach will meet them outside so that they can be screened prior to entry. They cannot enter PSH without being screened.  

  • After training sessions, teams, or groups are required to sanitize and wipe down their balls, ball cart, benches, postpads, antenna and any other training tools used with surface disinfectant. Surface disinfectant is provided on each court in a large clearly labelled spray bottle. This will require groups to take 5 minutes at the end of their booking time to complete the sanitization. 

  • Coaches and players must then leave PSH promptly.

Coach/Instructor Protocol:

  • Coaches are required to make sure players parents complete player health questionnaire (click here for link) before each booking. All players will check in at the front desk and we will keep a record of time and attendance. We encourage Coaches to keep their own records as well.

  • Coaches must sanitize each ball or other equipment that is not provided by PSH.

Member Protocol:

  • All members must immediately sanitize their hands upon entering the facility

  • Members must store their gear and water bottle at their designated court or training area.

  • Members should only bring the following into Prolific Sports House for training sessions: one basketball, one water bottle, one jacket and a pair of indoor training shoes. All members are forbidden to touch any other person’s belongings.

  • Members will complete a verbal questionnaire with the coach before being permitted to participate in the session. All questions follow AHS protocol.

  • During a basketball training session, if another player’s basketball bounces or rolls towards a player’s training station or in the direction of a member, please kick the ball back to the member or player it came from.

Parents/Spectators: 

  • Parents and spectators are NOT permitted inside PSH to watch during a practice, training, game, or session.  

  • One parent will be permitted to accompany their athlete into PSH for a one-on-one session. This parent must enter with the athlete. Parents will not be permitted to enter once the session has begun. 

  • All spectators entering PSH must: wear a mask, sign the PSH waivers, undergo the AHS Covid-19 questionnaire and sit at one of the chairs provided which have been placed 2 meters apart. Chairs cannot be moved. Standing room is not available or provided. 

Bathroom Procedure:

The bathroom on the main floor will be available for use.  We are strongly recommending the bathroom only be used for emergency purposes.  If a member, player or coach has no option but to use the bathroom while they are attending their session, here is the procedure:

  • Inform your coach you have an emergency and must use one of the bathrooms stalls.

  • Limited amount of people are allowed in the bathroom at all times unless an emergency arises where that isn’t possible (injuries, sickness etc.)

  • After washing your hands, you will proceed back to the gymnasium or designated area. If you touch something along the way please sanitize your hands before touching any equipment.

  • Bathrooms will be cleaned often, but deep cleans will happen every three hours and at the end of every night after the final session.

Mezzanine:

  • Members are allowed to go upstairs to the mezzanine an access the features upstairs.

  • Sanitize your hands before using any of the chairs, games, or equipment

  • Chairs will be placed 2 metres apart for seating to view onto the court

Summary:

  • For the exception of emergency situations, players and coaches have no reason to touch anything in the Prolific building except their personal belongings and the gymnasium floor.  PSH is dedicated to keeping a clean, safe, and reliable facility and all we ask that you respect our space like it is your home.  We are looking for support from our PSH Community to keep Prolific Sports House safe and open so everyone has a place to enjoy, have fun, and work hard in.
